HAPPY HALLOWEEN CRAZIES!!!

IT'S HERE!!!  HALlOWEEN IS HERE!!!  IN TWO DAYS!!!  Okay, so maybe it's a bit early, but try looking me in my eye and telling me y'all haven't already done SOME celebrating?  Yeah, that's what I thought!  Anyhoo, I'll make things quick this week as we all got fun stuff we wanna get to!  This week's art was from last year's CRAZY Halloween Party, an annual event that Jennifer Cuthbert and I host on social media as a chance to mingle and have fun with our fellow cartoonist pals!  Bubble and Pepper found the perfect costumes it seems at a renowned retailer that specializes in popular costumes that are legally distinct enough to skirt copyright issues.  That's why Bubble Fox is dressed as "Adorable Baby Spicy Dragon" and Pepper is dressed as "Flatulent Inflatable Fox!"  I'm sure everybody in the neighborhood will recognize them!

And that's a wrap on October 2025!  We'll be back next week to kick November off right and see if that wily Ol' Tom Turkey will be back for another round of Turkey Day lunacy!  In the meantime, be very careful while out trick-or-treating for those taking part.  And for any of our older revelers, please be responsible at parties.  Know your limits and if you've had too much, get a ride or sleep it off.  A lot can change fast as we've all sadly come to learn.  Until next time folks, take care, stay safe (SERIOUSLY!!!) and I'll catch y'all later!  Happy Halloween!

OOOOOOOOOH THAT SMELL!!!

Welcome back CRAZIES!!!  We are just over a week away from All Hallow's Eve!  I know, time's moving fast, that's why we gotta make more time to enjoy the moment!  But that's neither here nor there.  Right now, we need something to keep the spooky vibes alive for the season, and it gets no spookier than a ghost?  Don't believe me?  Scroll down and see for yourselves!  Come on now, don't be chicken!  Enjoy...

Ghosts come in many forms and origins, as do farts.  And as most paranormal experts will tell you, farts are merely the ghosts of the things we eat.  This boy was clearly indulging himself on the delicious joys of Popeye's Chicken before unleashing a terror from the dark crevice beyond his cheeks!  And that terror will soon spread to those nearest to the scare zone as the Ghost Chicken looks to clear the room!  This piece was part of an Animal Alphabets theme, possibly being a chicken or ghost, I honestly don't remember despite it only being from a year ago!  It certainly got a LOT of raised eyebrows on social media, and a lot of laughs too!  The chicken was actually colored in neon colored pencils and has a glowing effect under black light!  Unfortunately, it's not an easy effect to photograph, hence the reason we only get the standard edition here.  Perhaps in the future...

Alright!  Only one post left to go here in October 2025!  But don't worry!  I'll make sure we wrap October up on a high note and get everybody in the mood for Halloween!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

THE BEAST IS SUMMONED!!!

We are back my CRAZIES!!!  We are halfway there folks! Halloween is just two weeks away and I am totally in the spirit!  All my yard decorations are up (I swear one of these days I will do a post on those) and I've been lucky enough to take part in some of the festivities happening around Southern California.  I FINALLY go to Universal Studios Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights this year!  It was certainly different from anything I've ever done before, that's for sure.  If you've never been chased by a bunch of blond-soaked circus clowns carrying chainsaws before, then let me tell you it is a VERY novel experience!  But enough about that.  It's time for some spooky art, and today's piece is loud enough to summon the Hell Beast itself!  Enjoy...

Kazoos...  Quite possibly the only musical instrument hated more than an accordion!  Actually, accordions get a bad wrap in my opinion.  You can get some really unique sounds out of an accordion besides just using them in a polka.  Don't believe me?  Look up some Zydeco music or even some Fleetwood Mac songs that Christine McVie played accordion on.  You'll see!  But back to kazoos.  They are irritating as all get out and deserve all the hate, especially when played constantly by a kid hawked up on candy, cake and soda!  These boys might wanna make a run for it and soon, otherwise they might be blowing on those kazoos from a more southerly spot!  This piece came from my annual Fan Art Friday posts that I've done on-and-off since the pandemic more or less and was a gift for my pal Geoff Munn, creator of the hilarious comic #Parenting.  In it he portrays the daily misadventures of he and his wife as they navigate the waters of raising three good, but still rambunctious boys.  In one comic, his boys come home from a birthday party blowing on kazoos that were gifted to all the kids in their goody bags, prompting a VERY angry phone call to the birthday kid's parents!  It has become a bit of a running gag since as Geoff told me it has become a reoccurring thing at nearly EVERY birthday party his kids go to!  Take heart Geoff.  Your youngest is probably a good six years off from outgrowing them!

That's all for this week folks, but the spooks and screams are still strong as we work our way towards Halloween!  So don't chicken out because next week's post is definitely GASSY, er, I mean, GHASTLY!!!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

FULL MOON HOWLING!!!

We are back again!  Man I love this time of year!  Falling leaves, hot cider, apple pie, full moons, punk kids, werewolves...  Wait a tic...  Full moons?  Punk kids?  WEREWOLVES?!?  Where did all this come from?!?  To learn the answer, merely scroll down dear readers!  Enjoy...

Oh boy...  That werewolf is about to get to the BOTTOM of things and those kids are about to learn a harsh lesson about karma!  Remember kids, mooning may seem like a harmless prank, but the consequences can be dire.  In addition to misdemeanor indecent exposure charges, you also run the risk of exposing a werewolf to a full moon!  And no good will ever come of that!  Another oldie from the CRAZY Archives making its blog debut (A mere seven years after I originally drew it!),  I believe this was an Animal Alphabets piece where creatures of horror were the theme, and W landed on Werewolves.  This particular gag isn't new to me, or any other artists really.  Mike & Mindy had a mooning werewolf gag in their first year and I did a bit recently for some fan art where a full-of-himself kid thought mooning his friend would be funny, only for said friend to turn into a werewolf!  It's a funny gag for sure.  The great Don Martin did it once even, and if it's good enough for MAD's MADDEST Artist, then it's good enough for me!

Well, two weeks down as we march towards All Hallow's Eve!  I know, it seems like we just got here today, but I promise we'll be making plenty of noise next week that will certainly awaken the beast!  So be sure to come back and check it out!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

THE BUOYANT PLAYDATE!!!

Welcome to October CRAZIES!!!  We are there!  The Witching Hour...  The Haunting Season...  It is time for some Halloween fun!  I know y'all are excited and so am I!  After all, we're not that far off from turkey dinner and Christmas presents too, but one thing at a time.  I got some SPOOOOOOOKY art lined up all month long and it's time to see what's FLOATING up first!  Enjoy...

Oh my...  When Sunny and Mindy get together, you never know WHAT kind of shenanigans will happen!  These two kids were wild without all that helium!  Now that they're airborne, Vinnie might wanna get out of dodge before they deflate!  As you may have noticed from the signature date, this one's got some years on it.  Over TEN to be precise!  There's quite a few pieces from way-back-when that have yet to make their way here, something that will likely be changing soon now that all the various online art collectives I regularly took part in have seemingly ended.  This piece if I recall was done to cheer up my dear friend Tim Green who was going through a very rough spot.  Others followed suit leading to the wonderful #VivaVinnie collective that appeared on Twitter, back when politeness was still encouraged on social media.  Tim loved the art and even made Sunny's skull bloomers a part of her repertoire, which was fitting.  I doubt the vampire tot would be caught alive in Mindy's more colorful and cheerful Balloon Bloomers!

Well, that's one down in this extended month of October, but fear not, for we WILL be back next week with some art so terrifying, it may literally scare your pants off!  Come to think of it, maybe you should be a little fearful at least!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catchy y'all later!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN CRAZIES!!! 2024 EDITION!!!

It's here!  Halloween is here!  Tomorrow even!  I'll keep things short and sweet this week as I'm just as excited about things as y'all are!  Clover, Sap and Mooch are certainly ready to score big at Trick-Or-Treating, and I'm sure all three remembered to be wise enough to leave an offering to the Gregarious Gourd, lest they be tricked like last year!  Of course, wisdom and these three knuckleheads are often like oil and water, so hopefully they brought soap and water with them!

And that's a wrap for Halloween and the month of October!  I hope you enjoyed hanging out with some classic movie monsters and will come back next week as that tricky old bird, Tom Turkey, makes his return to the CRAZYVERSE!  For those taking part in some spooky festivities tomorrow night, please be safe.  Lotta things going on and a lotta people don't use their heads on Halloween night, so please be cautious and observant!  Until next time, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

NOSFERATU!!!

NEXT WEEK!!!  HALLOWEEN IS NEXT WEEK CRAZIES!!!  But this week we still got a guest to entertain!  He's enjoyed quite the resurgence in recent decades thanks to a certain cartoon sponge that appears on a network notorious for their poor treatment of creators, but that's neither here nor there!  He was gracious enough to appear this week at the CRAZYVERSE, so let's get to it!  Enjoy...

Count Orlok is here!  Often referred as Nosferatu, which ISN'T his actual name, the Count is actually among the earliest icons of the horror genre.  Largely forgotten as silent films began to get lost, it was a chance gag on an early-era episode of Spongebob that Count Orlok saw his star reignite!  Only problem is, we are now moving into a third generation of kids who think his name is NOSFERATU!!!  Eh, at least he was rediscovered.  As Meatloaf used to say, "Two out of three ain't bad!"

Well, that's four down and only one left to go as we get ready to scare the pants of a few people!  So be sure to came back next week and help get All Hallow's Eve off to a good start!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

METALUNA MUTANT MANIA!!!

We are almost there CRAZIES!!!  Halfway to Halloween!  And the call of turkey and sleigh bells aren't too far off either, but that's for another time!  Right now, these pumpkins we're made for carving, and that's just what we'll do!  We got another horror icon waiting in the wings and he's a bit blue that we haven't gotten to him yet, so lets get to it!  Enjoy...

The Metaluna Mutant!  An icon of early SciFi cinema, he's certainly got his fans.  So much so that there was actually a bit of backlash towards the MST3K crew when they riffed on it for Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie back in 1996!  If you take into account that A) It came out in the 1950's, a time when special effects were practically still being invented, and B) It was low budget to begin with, the movie was better than it had any right to be.  I feel MST3K's criticisms of story elements and such were fair, as it is cheesy as all get out.  But it's also one of the better films to get the Satellite of Love treatment and there were definitely more deserving titles out there.  I will say though, the film's low budget and inventing-wheel-still special effects are nowhere more evident than with the Metaluna Mutant.  I didn't just halfass the mutant's bottom half.  He LITERALLY looks unfinished in the movie too!  In someways, he set a trend.  Plenty of movie villains wear sweatpants now too!

Another one down as the Witching Hour gets closer and closer!  But before that can happen, we still gotta get through a few more posts, so be sure to come back and check it out!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

QUASI'S HERE! GET PUMPED!!!

We're back and getting more and more excited as the night of the pumpkin draws near!  At this point I'm hoping to have my yard display set up, but I've been seriously lagging in other areas lately, so, fingers crossed!  One of these days, I'll do an in depth post on how I put it all together and build the props, but that's for another day.  Y'all want art AND monsters, and I'm gonna deliver!  Our next CRAZY legend is here and ready to get spooked!  Enjoy...

No need to hunch over dear readers.  Quasimodo has entered the party scene and believe me, he is PUMPED for Halloween!  Few literary buffs realize just how practical Quasi's hunch truly is.  In addition to it supplementing his personality, it also servers as a crash pad and floatation device!  Yeah, I'm glad Quasimodo accepted our invitation.  The party was a bit flat without him!

Well, another week down as we get closer to the night of all things spooky!  But we still got plenty of fun left to be had, so be sure to come back and see who will show up next!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

ROCKIN' OUT WITH LUDO!!!

Welcome to October CRAZIES!!!  We're already deep into the Spooking Season, but now we're REALLY amping up the creepy factor as Halloween is that much closer!  And how is the CRAZYVERSE getting ready for the big day?  By inviting some horror legends to come get CRAZY with us!  Our first guest is even here already!  Who is it?  Scroll down and see for yourself!  Enjoy...

Hey hey!  It's Ludo, the gentle giant of Jim Henson's classic fantasy film, Labyrinth!  Granted, it's not a horror flick, but those goblins (Not to mention David Bowie's, er, Major Tom) gave quite a few kids nightmares back in the day.  Luckily, we all grew up to be well adjusted adults who now appreciate just how wonderful Henson's fantasy epics truly were!  Here, Ludo displays his amazing ability to command rocks.  Wonder if this means he can command THE Rock?  Guess we'll learn in the future when this movie gets inevitably remade!

Well, that's it for this week, but we'll be back next time with another legend of fantasy and horror as the CRAZY march to Halloween continues!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2023 CRAZIES!!! BEWARE THE GREGARIOUS GOURD!!!

We've reached it CRAZIES!!!  We've reached Halloween!  Well, almost.  Still got six days to go.  But that's close enough!  The Gregarious Gourd is certainly ready for it!  What's that?  You've never heard of the Gregarious Gourd?!?  Well boy are you in luck, because I happen to be an expert, and there's still time to prepare!  Nobody knows where he came from or the method behind his madness, but every Halloween, the Gregarious Gourd visits numerous pumpkin patches, searching out those who have summoned him and rewarding those who've brought him an offering, even a simple one.  However, those who foolishly summon him empty-handed are punished by a bombardment of tricks worse than any fraternity initiation! The Gregarious Gourd's time is precious, and takes his job seriously.  So be prepared if you want to summon him!

Okay, now that story time is over, it's time to get to this week's art!  Not quite as pretty as the piece above, but in 2017, I didn't know how to use colored pencils properly, so cut me some slack!  Anyway, here's the finale for October!  Enjoy...

Kamaji has many responsibilities in the film Spirited Away, but in his off time, he just wants to relax and jam on some consoles!  Three at once is certainly impressive and he's also a master at trolling ten-year-olds on Twitch!  Another entry from Animal Alphabets, this one was a lot of fun to draw.  Lots of odd shapes, twists and poses which I'm always down for!  Certainly helps that the movie is loaded with bizarre and imaginative characters that practically scream for fan art to one made!

That's a wrap on October 2023 CRAZIES!!!  Another month that seems to have blown through quicker than the Santa Ana winds, but never fear!  We got more fun starting next week as that wily old trickster, Tom Turkey, makes his return for even more battles with those dastardly, but less-than-bright Brat Twins!  The countdown to Turkey Day starts in seven days, so be sure to come back and check it out!  Until then take care, stay safe and watch out for the little ones on Halloween night.  It's gonna be dark out and some costumes stand out better than others, so always be careful.  Catch y'all later!

HELL'S A COMIN' WITH HIM!!!

We are back!  It's October, it's Autumn, the leaves are turning, pumpkins are being harvested and cider's being served up by the stein!  It's my favorite time of year CRAZIES, so let's dive right into this week's art so we can go out and enjoy more of the sights, sounds and tastes of the season!  Enjoy...

It's Hellboy, the demon spawn with a good heart!  The longtime staple of Dark Horse Comics made his big screen debut in 2004 and has since had a bit of trouble keeping things going in live action, including a failed reboot several years ago.  Another theme from Animal Alphabets, this one isn't one of my best if I'm being honest.  Muscular characters just aren't my thing, though I've found ways to adapt since then.

Another week down as we march towards Halloween, but fear not folks!  Still a couple more posts to go before trick or treating begins, so be sure to come back next time for some more spooky fun!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

THE SPOOKING SEASON IS HERE!!!

Welcome back CRAZIES!!!  We are well into Fall now and October has officially started which can mean only one thing: LESS THAN A MONTH TO GO BEFORE CHRISTMAS OVERKILL BEGINS!!!  Oh, and Halloween is upon us!  Yep, the holiday season has formally arrived as All Hallow's Eve kicks the season off, and we too will be getting the scary dealings started today as the CRAZYVERSE celebrates ALL things creepy, kooky, mysterious, spooky and even altogether ooky, just like the Addams Family!  So sit back, relax, take a bite out of your candy apple and take a look at this week's art!  Enjoy...

Poor Edward Scissorhands.  His creator clearly meant well, but he seriously couldn't have used something not so sharp to make hands out of?  Like spoons or butterknives?  And don't even get me started with the bondage!  Starting to wonder now what he was really planning with his creation?!?  This week's art came from Animal Alphabets on Twitter.  The theme at the time was horror monsters, which makes this one a little weird as Edward wasn't exactly a monster, but I guess you could say he's a variation on the Frankenstein story.  This one was fun to draw though.  Certainly different from my usual funny animals and goofy kids!

Well, that's all she wrote for this week, but we'll be back next time for even more pumpkin spice-flavored spookiness, so be sure to come back and check it out!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

MORE LIKE A PUDDLE!!!

Well, here we are again, the last post of the month.  But hey!  That just means we are about to reach our spooky destination!  That's right!  All Hallow's Eve, aka, Halloween, is five days away!  While you fine "boos" and "ghouls" put the finishing touches and your costumes and party decorations, why not take a well-earned break and see what's crept in this week.  Enjoy...

Talk about a ripoff?  I always knew waterfront properties were a scam, but this takes it to a whole new level!  The Creature from the Black Lagoon gets the final spot of the month as we head into Halloween.  One of cinema's all-time classic monsters, he surprisingly hasn't appeared much outside of his initial films, the second of which was actually riffed on in a later episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.  Outside of a VERY effective appearance in Monster Squad and a blink-and-you-missed-it nod in the ill-fated 2017 The Mummy reboot, he's barely been used at all.  And yet, he's still very well-remembered.  Just goes to show you how effective that original suit was.  Quality makes a difference.  Budget and technology of the era wasn't on the filmmakers' side in those days, but they still delivered a kickass monster that has stood the test of time!  As far as the art goes, this wasn't the easiest to correct with all those dark colors, but it was still a blast to draw!  I do love a good monster!

And that's a wrap on October 2022!  Hope y'all enjoyed the spooky pageantry!  Next week, that rascally Tom Turkey returns and continues his war with those devilish Brat Twins, Dorothy and Billy!  Will Tom escape again or is he destined for the bellies of the Brats?  Find out next week when the chase returns!  In the meantime, take care and stay especially safe this Halloween.  The pandemic may be slowing down, but it's still happening so take proper precautions.  And also, be aware of your surroundings and make sure your candy/treats are safe.  Halloween is known for its tricks, some of which are not in the spirit of good fun, so be cautious.  Until next time, catch y'all later!

DINNER WITH THE DOOKS!!!

We are back and spookier than ever!  The Creeping Hour is ever closer and hopefully y'all have had some time to go and enjoy a few of the festivities of the Fall so far!  I've made it out to a few things (I hope!) but have also been working a lot!  October is typically our busiest time of the year as far as far conventions and trade shows go.  It's good for me financially, but not always optimal for going around and taking part in all the fun of the season.  Maybe one of these years I'll be able to join in.  But enough about that!  You want art and I got some!  So scroll down and take a gander why don't ya?  Enjoy...

Oh no!  It's the Babadook!  The myth!  The legend!  The... Who is he again?  I gotta be honest, I haven't the foggiest idea who the Babadook is, other than he's a villain from a horror movie from Australia I think?  I don't know?  But, he was simple to draw and giving him a plucky, perky wife just seemed like a natural!  Opposites attract after all.  Paula Abdul even wrote a song about it!  This piece isn't without its own horror though.  After all, is there any creepier food than Jello?!?  It's so moldable and jiggly!  There's definitely something suspicious about it!

And that's another week down as we get closer to Halloween, but fear not!  We got one more piece of spooky art to go before the Happy Haunts have their swinging wake!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

FEED... MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Welcome back CRAZIES!!!  Now that we're past the mediocrity of Long Beach Comic Con, we can finally get into the seasonal spirit of Halloween!  Got some great art queued up this month, so let's dive on in and avoid any Knicks and scrapes!  After all, our first subject is ALWAYS thirsty for blood!  Who or WHAT is it?  Scroll down and see!  Enjoy...

Oh my goodness!  Audrey II is here and hungry!  Once a cute little plant bud in a coffee can, it turned out he/she was actually an alien plant bent on world domination!  Originally a monster from a 60's Z movie by schlock master Roger Corman, Audrey II was reborn in the early 80's when eventual Disney saviors Howard Ashman and Alan Menkin turned the flop film, Little Shop of Horrors, into an off-Broadway sensation, eventually making the jump to the big stage and then returning to film in a cult hit directed by Muppet legend Frank Oz!  For our purposes, Audrey II kicked off a new round for Twitter art collective Animal Alphabets, this time focusing on horror and SciFi movie monsters!  I was more than eager to take part in this one and had a great time with all the themes!  This movie in particular appealed to me.  Besides the Muppet connections, there were also a lot of SCTV connections to the film as well, so it was special for sure.

That's all she wrote for this week, but be sure to creep in next Wednesday where things will take a more cheery turn!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

LONG BEACH COMIC CON IS BACK!!!

Welcome to October CRAZIES!!!  Yet another tradition returned in 2022 after a three year hiatus, but we'll get to that in a moment.  First, take a look at my poor pumpkin patch...

It started off with a lot of promise, big healthy vines, flowers and leaves everywhere and an abundance of little pumpkin bulbs.  But within a month, they all shriveled up, leaving me with a handful of piddly pumpkins. Needless to say, I was disappointed and decided to cut my losses and pull up the dead/dying vines.  But then I walked out into my backyard and saw this strange occurrence...

Hot damn!  They'll put those things up in ANY open space, won't they?  It wouldn't be so bad if the patrons actually bought something!  It's the least they can do for hogging up all the parking on my street!  Perhaps next year, my pumpkins will be more successful.  One can only hope...

Now, back to the return of a yearly tradition.  Long Beach Comic Con has returned from the pandemic-induced hiatus!  In recent years prior, they'd cut back a lot in size and festivities.  Would they come back strong and blow things up like they used to?  Afraid to say no.  They didn't. In fact, they downsized even further.  I'd go on, but there are pictures waiting, so let's just get right to it.  Enjoy...

Here we have the winner for most creative use of a pool noodle in a cosplay prop!

Next up, the winner for most creative use of a frilly shirt!  So many frills!

The R2 Builders Club were one of the few Fan Clubs that returned to this year's show and as always, they were a hit!  They even brought Rex, the original pilot of the beloved Star Tours attraction at Disneyland!

Not a whole lotta booths this year, but some of the ones that did go had some nice displays.

There were many poor unfortunate souls in Long Beach that weekend, where a record high of 108F hit the city on the last day of the con!  Ursula took it in stride though!

Hook Deadpool and Tinkerbell!  I've seen a lot of Tinkerbell cosplay over the years, but this is the first time I've seen anyone do the version of her from Hook!

Catwoman enjoys her some lemonade!

Rambo knows it's important to mask up still!

An R2 unit went to fetch some pizza and chicken strips for its maker!

Would this be considered a Doggo-gorgon?

Party on Michael!

Johnny 5 came to chill with the astro droids!

Judging by the color of the flames, those were some particularly sweet donuts that Ghostrider was eating!

The Hyatt Regency Long Beach!  It's a very nice hotel and the adjacent Rainbow Harbor Lagoon is so much fun to walk around!  You can see numerous fish and birds hanging around the water, even several species of sharks and rays!  It's a pity they took away the bridges to the islands in the middle of the lagoon.  Still a fun site to visit.

The are many great access points and walkways around the Long Beach Convention Center, which is one of the things that makes it so sad that their comic convention has downsized so much in the last five years.  Hopefully that'll change with coming shows.

The only other fan group that came this year: The Trekkies!  Live long and prosper friends.

The Cars of the Stars were back in their usual spot, though they too downsized from the amount of cars that they usually bring.  And I should note that they brought more than just these two Jurassic Park Jeeps!  The rest were behind me!

Another amazing cosplay!  Even in a downsized year, LBCC still brought out some incredible cosplayers to the show!

Looks like the Riddler was able to score a few hard-to-find back issues!

And that was Long Beach Comic Con 2022.  It wasn't a good show.  It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good.  This show used to be my favorite one to go to, more than SDCC even.  How it fell this hard this fast is beyond me. One could point to the pandemic as a cause to the cutbacks, and it's a valid excuse for sure, but this was happening long before COVID was ever heard of.  I hope they turn it around, I honestly do.  Long Beach is a fun place and I love visiting there.  They deserve to have a top notch Comic Con.  Next year though, I think I'm gonna go to Mid-Summer Scream instead.  That show looks awesome!

And that's it for this first week of October.  Be sure to drop in next Wednesday for some monstrous art kicking off a monstrous month!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

WHAT'S THE BUZZ?!? HALLOWEEN OF COURSE!!!

We have come to it at last!  HALLOWEEN 2021!!!  Things have certainly changed a lot from last year when Halloween was more or less cancelled.  Thankfully, things are looking up and continuing in a fairly positive direction as of this writing.  But as we are now less than four days away from All Hallow's Eve, I think some spooky art is in order, don't you?  I mean, Bubble Fox as the Hat Box Ghost is pretty cool, but I think the CRAZY faithful deserve a little extra in the spirit off the holiday, so scroll down and enjoy...

BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ!!!  Bees are terrifying enough, but Zombie bees?!?  Yeah, I'd be running for nearest industrial size can of Raid if I saw them!  The "Zombee" was I believe a Pinch Punch Post theme that I drew some time ago, 2016 by my signature.  Several friends have often chastised me over my fear of bees so I decided to appease them by drawing one.  Needless to say, they weren't impressed.  I thought the Zombee was pretty funny and I'm not totally anti-bee.  I even built a bee house for native bees in my backyard!  I just don't like getting stung!  That and honey is totally gross.  It's their vomit for crying out loud!  Keep that in mind while munching on Halloween candy Sunday night!

And that's a wrap for the month of October 2021!  I hope you enjoyed the spooky monsters and art.  We'll be back next week to kick off Thanksgiving month with some more hijinks from that wily old bird, Tom Turkey!  Until then take care, stay safe and remember to be vigilant Halloween night.  Keep the little ones close and make sure the candy given is meant for little ones.  Also, follow local ordinances.  Halloween's a time for masks anyway!  Until next time, catch y'all later!

HUBBA BUBBA HALLOWEEN GRUBBA!!!

We are back and getting ever so closer to the witching hour!  Seriously, we're little more than a week away!  Hopefully you fine CRAZIES are making the final adjustments to your costumes and practicing proper trick-or-treating etiquette.  Remember kids, a pillow case holds MUCH more candy than those cute little pumpkin buckets your mom makes you carry!  But enough about that, it's time for some art!  Enjoy...

YO GRUBBA GRUBBA!!!  These colorful monsters LOVE to party!  The Grubba is also known as the glow monster because of its love of black lights, hence the reason you always see then wearing neon colors.  If there's a rave to be had during halloween, you will find a Grubba or two hanging out on the dance floor, busting moves as their wardrobe shines!  The last Monsters Go theme I'm posting this month (Don't worry, I still have a few more for next year), this one was probably my favorite to draw.  I've always been big on colors, so this one was a given that I'd take part.  It was also cool to work on a character that doesn't have many curves.  Everything's so round and bouncy in my art.  I liked drawing some sharp points for a change!

That's all for now but we'll be back next week with DOUBLE the spooky art to celebrate Halloween and close out October properly.  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

HALLOWEEN IS COMING, WOBB WOBB WOBB!!!

Welcome to October CRAZIES!!!  The Spooking Season is upon us!  Things have certainly improved a lot since this time last year and I'm particularly excited for the return of a more traditional Halloween, though current safety protocols will still be closely followed.  Costumes, decorations, tricks and, of course, TREATS!!!  We got it all here at the CRAZYVERSE and are looking forward to giving y'all some long awaited spooky fun!  With that said, let's get the art show started!  Enjoy...

The Wobb!  Also known as the amoeba monster, this spirited creation was dreamed up by the Monsters Go art collective on Twitter, which took kids' drawings of monsters and challenged artists to draw it in their own styles.  Always looking to sharpen my skills, I took part for a little while and had a lot of fun putting a CRAZY spin on these marvelous monsters!  The Wobb is particularly interesting as it's among the very few pieces I've done that has no black outlines on it.  Great use of primary colors though!

That's all for today, but be sure to come back next week for more monster fun as we approach the witching hour!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!
