RYAN KLASSEN'S HERE FOR THE CRAZYVERSARY AND IT'S A GAS!!!

HUMP DAY!!!  We are dead smack in the middle of week one of the CRAZYVERSARY!  Ryan Klassen took part in last year's celebration and did such a cool (And fast!) strip, we had to have him come back for some more CRAZY fun!  Hold your noses and enjoy…

I used to think only unicorns could fart rainbows.  Apparently wizards and witches can too!  This must be what drove Saruman to side with Sauron.  The shame drove him mad!

Ryan Klassen is an awesome cartoonist.  Consistently funny and one of the quickest draws in comics, Ryan is a true marvel!  His comic, City Folk, is a combo of slice of life and and funny animal comics that rings true for any that struggle through that first part of adulthood.  He really knows how to lighten things up and I always look forward to new strips by Ryan.  I also love how he draws Mike and Mindy!  They act more like real kids in his toons!  Ryan was also kind enough to include Mike and Mindy in a recent sketch he did for his site, seen here!  Some great company to be in and honored to have my "Kids" sandwiched between Gully and Picpak Dog.  Warren Frantz and Kim Belding are two of my closest friends in real life after all.  Thanks again Ryan!

Well, another day has passed.  Tomorrow Matt Cole stops by in an attempt to "Top" all other guest strips!  Will he succeed?  Tune in tomorrow and find out!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all Thursday!

MIKE AND MINDY "HANG OUT" WITH J.A. PARKER AND WEDGIE MONSTER!!!

Welcome back CRAZIES!!!  It's day two of the CRAZYVERSARY and J.A. Parker has stopped by to "Hang Out" for a bit!  Enjoy…

Man, those two are just never gonna learn to stop screwing with Wedgie Monster are they?!  I mean, IT'S IN HIS FRIGGIN' NAME EVEN!!!  Some fools just can't be taught I suppose.

J.A. Parker is one of the most prolific young cartoonists on the web today.  Between his work on Achoo, Manimals and Lumbersexual, I'm trying to figure out how he found the time to work on this piece!  He's also a good friend and a big booster of the web comics community.  J.A. had mentioned to me how funny he thought Wedgie Monster was and asked why he had so few appearances in the comics.  I honestly have no good answer there as monsters played a rather large role in the early years of the CRAZYVERSE.  In Wedgie Monster's case, you can only give so many before it becomes passé.  In any event, J.A. has brought this beast back in all his tight whitey-yanking glory!  Just wonder what they did to him THIS time to rattle his horns?  Thanks again J.A.  You really "Pulled" off a classic here!

And day two is up!  Hump Day brings on my pal Ryan Klassen's effort, which will leave you all "Mystified!"  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all tomorrow!

CRAZYVERSARY 2015 IS A GO WITH KIM, PICPAK, INFLATION AND 3D!!!

HAPPY CRAZYVERSARY!!!  No, Mike and Mindy aren't back.  As you can see, they are clearly enjoying their retirement and the beach!  But it is their anniversary month, and a party still has to happen for them!  Just like in years past, every weekday this month we got a Mike And Mindy guest comic coming at you from some awesome pals from the web comic realm!  First up is Kim Belding, creator of Mike and Mindy's favorite pal, Picpak Dog!  But before we jump into the guest comic, I first have a surprise for all my CRAZIES.

Have any of you ever wanted to see Mike and Mindy in… 3D?!

Well now you can!  The above image is the result of countless hours of research and experimentation!  It's amazing how well it came out and I hope y'all get a kick out of it!  What's that?  You don't have 3D glasses?  Never fear!  The good folks at Wikihow got you covered!  Follow the included link here for directions and a template to make your own red and blue 3D glasses should have none of your own!  And yes, the red and cyan type will work too if you have those!

And now, enjoy the toon…

These three have quite a history together!  Picpak was sad to hear of his friends' retirement but had assurances they'd still have some fun every now and then.  Perhaps he should've been more specific on the actual time!

I can't sing the praises of Kim Belding enough.  He's a kind hearted soul, a phenomenal talent and an amazing pal.  He's always a good sport in our constant debates over which root beer is the best.  He's my partner in crime and one day we WILL get CRAZY in Pink off the ground.  Without the aid of helium to boot!  When I got this toon I laughed rather heartily.  It really did sum up the friendship and friendly rivalry of our respective casts peferctly.  Inflation was M&M's trademark gag really and in a sense it's been passed on to Picpak.  Thanks again Kim.  I take comfort knowing these guys will always be full of hot air!

You know?  3D was cool, but the request I get the most is animation.  "When are we gonna see Mike and Mindy move Jon?" is something I'm constantly asked and if I had the money, it'd be done in a heartbeat!  But I don't so I hope this really simple GIF is good enough!  Enjoy...

This was probably the grossest gag I ever did in a Mike And Mindy comic.  It got one of the best reactions ever from readers and seemed taylor made to be animated.  I know the GIF is rough, but I think it came out OK for having never done one before.  Perhaps someday it will be properly animated for to see and hear!

Well, that's all for day one, but don't feel left "Hanging!"  We got a new guest toon tomorrow from J.A. Parker that will be "Monster" laughs for all!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all tomorrow!

SHEEEEEEEP!!!

One month down already?  Time sure does fly don't it?  Sketch Dailies came up with the theme again this week of "Little Bo Peep." Were her sheep truly stolen?  Let's find out..

Nope!  She's just that darn annoying and they ran off!  Perhaps those uber pink bloomers scared them?  Another fun piece to work on.  Kids and animals are great comic fodder for cartoonists!

And that's all she wrote for January folks!  But guess what?  The CRAZYVERSARY returns next week with Mike And Mindy fan art and guest strips every weekday in February!  A lot of pals wanted to say goodbye to the first couple of web comics, so we're having one last party in their honor, so be sure to stop by for a bit!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

AND THE BAGS PLAYED ON...

Time for another Doodle!  This time Sketch Dailies caught my fancy with the theme of the Lochness Monster!  Couldn't pass up a chance to sketch 'Nessie, so enjoy!

Gotta be honest, not one of my better ones.  I actually changed the feet from the roughs because they just didn't look right.  Still fun though.  Just wondering where 'Nessie found bagpipes that big?

Coming to the end again folks.  Stop buy next week for a new piece of CRAZY art!  Until then, I'll catch y'all later!

DRAGONS AND GEORGE...

Welcome back folks!  Today's drawing was a topic of the Daily Doodle back in April.  The theme was George And The Dragon based off a classic tale from English folklore.  Me being me, I decided to add a different George to the mix…

Probably not the most dead-on George Harrison caricature, but I'm a cartoonist so cut me some slack will ya!  I love the dragon design here and am really excited that I'm getting more opportunities to draw creatures of myth and fantasy!

Well, that's all folks!  Come back next time for some more doodles and such!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

NEW YEAR, NEW FORMAT, NEW FANS!!!

WELCOME TO 2015!!!  And the new format!  No, the CRAZY Stuff ain't going anywhere!  It's just gonna be without a few familiar faces for a while is all!  so let's dive right in and start the new year off right with some new art for all to enjoy!  Or hate!  Totally your call!

First though, a little backstory here.  There are two wonderful groups on Twitter called Daily Doodle and Sketch Dailies.  Each weekday, they give out a topic for all to draw and post back for Twitter users to enjoy!  Well, I've amassed a rather large amount of rough pencil drawings over the past year, and many pals have asked me if I'd ever ink and color them.  Well wonder no more, because this week starts the beginning of the fruits of my labor!  Each week, unless otherwise noted, I'll be presenting a different inked and colored sketch of my various Daily Doodle and Sketch Dailies efforts!  Note that I didn't do every topic that they've posted nor will I be posting the original pencil drawings.  Those can be seen on my Twitter page and frankly, I liked them so much, I simply traced over them on my lightbox with a pen!  Sometimes you just can't beat the original!  With that said, let's get started and I hope you enjoy!

The very first one I got to do was the "Three Little Pigs" theme for the Daily Doodle.  No rhyme or reason here.  Just trying to be my silly self is all.  I do remember drawing the original maybe an hour or so before I had to head up to Anaheim to start setting up for WonderCon.  All I know is, the Big Bad Wolf will likely think twice before messing with any other pigs!

And now for some REALY cool news!  My ever so awesome pal Warren Frantz (Off Season), has introduced Bubble Fox to his students at the school he teaches at!  He took the infamous Dragon's Tale storyline and broke it up into story time for several classes!  All the kids loved the tale but felt bad for the poor dragon as he had no name.  Well, Warren and me cooked up a plan and held a Name The Dragon Contest for the kids!  I was stunned at the amount of entries I got (Over 100!), all of them amazing!  But alas, there could only be one winner, and I'm proud to say a 3rd grader by the name of Kaleb took top honors with the powerful name of Malfor!

(Here's Kaleb with his prize pack and Gully himself, Warren Frantz, celebrating Kaleb's prize pack as my video image rambles on in the background!)

I gotta tell ya, I've never been prouder as a cartoonist!  To have all those kids love the comic really filled my heart with joy and could not have come at a better time for me!  I was especially pleased that the kids were all tickled over Malfor being a blue dragon! (Bubble's a black and white toon, so the imagination's gotta be used heavily there!)  And then the news got even better when Warren sent me these from the kids:

FAN ART!!!

Bubble Fox in the Hot Tub yelling "Hot Bubbles!"  This was from one of Warren's 1st Graders!

This piece of M&M fan art is from a little Girl named Kaylee!  See? Those two will never truly be gone from here!

Kaylee also did this homage to a sketch card one of the runners-up received in the contest!  I tell ya, Warren's got some very talented kids at his school!

I'm still beaming from all this fanfare!  Thank you so much Warren for organizing this and for being such a great friend!  And thank you kids for being such good students!  Bubble loves all of you and has LOTS more in store in the coming year!

Well, that's all for this week folks.  We'll be back next time with a new doodle for your art appetite!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!
