MARCHIN' ON TO WONDERCON!!!

Welcome to March 2026 my CRAZIES!!!  We are just WEEKS away from WonderCon 2026, and excitement here at the CRAZYVERSE is reaching critically dangerous levels!  My room is booked, my restaurant tables are reserved and I am currently working hard to get into Con shape!  I am eating insane amounts of M&M's and Doritos while guzzling gallons of Code Red Mountain Dew.  Sure, this is killing my liver while adding extra stress to my heart, but comic conventions are worth the future health risks!  Anyway, y'all came here for some past WonderCon pics, and your old Uncle CRAZY'S gonna deliver!  This week, we head back to 2019, the final WonderCon before the pandemic.  The time and location are set, so hold on to your trading pins because the CRAZY WonderCon Countdown is live!  Enjoy...

Everybody needs a good Maug by their side!

Somehow, I don't think she needs the extra bodyguards!

You'd think Dragon Balls would be bigger.  MUCH bigger!  What?  Why are you looking at me like that?

COBRAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Glad to see that Doug Funny and Patty Mayonnaise finally settled down.  Now if only the stain of the Disney version of Doug could be erased!

My dear friend Amanda, who's one of the nation's premier Cosplayers, celebrated a big milestone at WonderCon as she was part of her first panel!

Isn't that sweet?  This friendly clown just wants too spread some love around this disheartening world!

Tom Servo has now taken to riffing on Cosplayers!

The Goblin King sure gets around!

It's not quite the spectacle of San Diego Comic Con, but the foot traffic of WonderCon can still be pretty intense, especially on Saturdays.

Our good pal Ed gets the party started in the Fountain Plaza!  Hopefully the iconic Fountain will be fixed this year after a longer than expected renovation.

I tell ya, opening a Star Tours Terminal at the Anaheim Convention Center has made getting to Disneyland so much easier during the show!

When the Hip Hop Stormtrooper gets the beat going, you HAVE to bust a move!

And finally, we'll end this week with a pair of Cosplayers who have really become quite iconic at cons throughout Southern California, the Hawk People!  The wings fully open and retract and the craftsmanship is easily on par with anything from a Hollywood studio.  I've always admired folks with such incredible abilities.

And that was WonderCon 2019!  An odd year in that trouble on the home front made it tough to enjoy myself until literally the last few hours of the show.  And of course, within a few weeks after the show, a lot of those troubles would clear up!  Always seems to work that way, doesn't it?  Still, I did have some fun at Disneyland during the trip and scored some really cool old comics during the show, which has really become a passion of mine in recent years.  A glass is always better to be half full than half empty.

Well, only a few weeks left until the big show, but we are gonna keep on plugging away until showtime, so be sure to come back next week as the CRAZY WonderCon Countdown chugs on!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

WONDERCON 2019!!! HERE WE GO NOW!!!

Welcome back CRAZIES!!!  TWO!!!  TWO WEEKS UNTIL WONDERCON!!!  AH HA HAAA!!!  Sorry, I'm in a bit of a counting mood as we inch closer to the big weekend!  I don't know about y'all, but I am ready to get my con season started!  But we still have a little bit of a wait before us, so in the meantime, how about we get to the pics?  Hold on to your novelty print Hawaiian shirts, because the CRAZY WonderCon Countdown Continues!  Enjoy...

The Undertaker sent chills down the aisles of the Anaheim Convention Center that weekend!

Forrest Gump might wanna go have a chat with the manager of the Bubba-Gump Shrimp restaurant on Katella because that joint is a mess!

BB-8 meets a young admirer!

When he's not trying to turn Gotham into a popsicle, Mr. Freeze is actually a pretty chill dude!

That's not Peter Parker Doc Oc!

Party on dudes!

I'm pretty sure this is entirely inappropriate, but it had the whole crowd gathered around watching cracking up!  Also, bonus points for bringing the Radio from The Brave Little Toaster into it!

While student at Hogwarts are treated to the feasts of the Great Hall, the faculty have to rely on food trucks.  No wonder so many teachers there keep defecting to Voldemort!

You know it's a big deal when April's covering the convention!  To this day though, I've still never been able to figure out why a news anchor would be wearing a jumpsuit while reporting the news?  Maybe April's bosses didn't like her and were planning to launch her into space?

The Hulk was making new friends all weekend long!

Damn...  Waldo ain't even trying anymore!

Forget recess, it's snack time!

How callous has humanity become?  Dorothy is clearly in trouble here and not one person came to her aid, despite the throngs of bystanders!

We'll end things this week the same way WonderCon ended in 2019: With a fun, impromptu cosplay dance party in the Fountain Courtyard!

And that was WonderCon 2019!  Admittedly, I was having a very rough go heading into the show that year, and a lot of those troubles followed me there.  It seemed I didn't really have any fun until the very end.  And true to form, a lot of the troubles went away not long AFTER I came home!  Funny how it always seems to work out that way, no?  Still, the show itself was good and I did pick up some cool finds and classic comics.  And the impromptu cosplay dance parties happening out front were a true highlight!  If they could find a safe spot in Downtown San Diego to do those at SDCC, then they could REALLY ramp up the fun even further!

Well, that's another week down as we get closer and closer to WonderCon!  We'll be back next time to keep your fix going as the CRAZY WonderCon Countdown makes a rather large leap to 2022!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

WONDERCON 2019: AILES AND AILES OF FUN!!!

ONE!!!  ONE WEEK TO GO!!!  Alright, alright, I gotta calm down.  After all, we got pictures to look at still!  So how's about we just cut the jibber jabber and get straight to it, sound good?  We're heading back to 2019 and the CRAZY WonderCon Countdown is a go!  Enjoy...

STEAMPUNK COBRAAAAAA!!!

Party on Wayne!

Dani's here and wants some candy...  Minus the the summoning of three ancient, psychotic, cannibalistic witches chasing after her!

Even Indy needs a break at a chill show like WonderCon.

He wants to rock n roll all night and party every day!

It's like a prom photo at Manson High School!

The Hilton lobby is a great place to spot cosplayers, like Harley Quinn!

Endor 911 is sure to be a hit on Disney+!

Professor Chaos came ready to shake a leg at the impromptu dance parties held every evening on the concourse after the exhibit hall closed!

If the Rockford Peaches did a Batwoman night...

A whole new world was discovered in the Convention Center lobby!

One of the more enjoyable parts of the convention is the breathing room.  Lots of people come for sure, but there's still plenty of space to browse and really enjoy things.

Nah.  No Star Wars influence at all going on here!

As any longtime reader will tell you, I am a HUGE fan of obscure cosplay, and I can't think of a better way to end things this week than with a REALLY obscure cosplay, Joe Dirt!  I'm sure even David Spade would like to forget about this one!

And that was WonderCon 2019.  Although the show itself was enjoyable, I was having a rough go on the home front that made it difficult to enjoy.  It's always sad when the troubles of home follow along on vacation, but sometimes these things can't be helped.  Just wish it happened less often.  Still, the dance parties held after each day closed were awesome and lessened the sting of things a bit.  Also scored some killer classic comics which I hope to score more of this year!

Well, only one week left to go before the big show, but I still got some past fun queued up and ready to get us all into the WonderCon spirit, so be sure to come back and check it out!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

WONDERCON 2023 IS HERE!!! BUT FIRST, WONDERCON 2019!!!

WELCOME TO WONDERCON WEEK CRAZIES!!!  Can't believe how quickly this week has come!  My room is booked, bags are packed and the truck's gassed up and running!  Yes sir, we are all ready to head up north and get the SoCal Con Season underway!  Of course, the show doesn't start for another two days, so how about we keep ourselves entertained with a look back at a WonderCon from more recent memory?  Doc Brown's time machine is set to 2019 and the speedometer's about to hit 88MPH!!!  Hold on to your Batman underoos kids, because the past is coming at us fast!  Enjoy...

Whatever happened to Doug Funny and Patty Mayonnaise?  They grew up, got hitched and now tour the comic con circuit signing autographs!

Cleverly topical humor for sure!

Newt Scamander is always on the lookout for new creatures big and small!

Always down for some classic Disney cosplay!  The Huntsman's costume is especially well done!

Don't let its awesomeness fool you.  The Powerglove totally sucked!

Beetlejuice and Lydia catch a breather at the Fountain Concourse!

The Agents of SHIELD were there keeping all of the various attendees in check!

Half of the Sinister Six showed up, but their infighting kept them from causing any real damage!

The Dragon Megazord, which in recent months has taken on a new kind of nostalgia.

These three are such great friends... Until dress colors come into play!

The REAL Batmobile as far as I'm concerned!

Bring It On isn't the first movie that comes to mind when one thinks of cosplay, but I do enjoy it when people think outside of the box!

Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger, may I take your order?  This cosplayer's been showing up a lot to SoCal cons in recent years and I'm so glad he does.  Everywhere he goes, he brings the party with him!

Ms. Frizzle was there and ready to lead a new class of minors on some surprisingly dangerous field trips when you really think about it for a bit!

Just wouldn't be WonderCon without Mary and Bert!

Captain Planetpool!

The Blue Barracudas are always ready for the Hidden Temple!

FEED MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

And finally, the family that 'Pools together stays together!

And that was WonderCon 2019!  Bit of an off year for me, not because the show was bad.  Far from it actually.  The troubles of home I was having at the time followed me up there, making it really hard to relax and enjoy myself.  Still, it was a great year for cosplay and long box diving, and the impromptu dance parties that kept breaking out at the Fountain Concourse were so much fun!  If I were 15 years younger and braver, I'd totally join in on some of those!

That's all for this week folks, but fear not!  Even though WonderCon starts on Friday, the countdown still continues as I post these in advance, so there's a little more fun to be had in the coming weeks!  If you're going to Anaheim this weekend, please be courteous and respectful to others.  We're all adults here for the most part and need to act like it.  If we all follow the rules and just plain be kind to one another, there's no reason we can't all have a good time.  I'll be doing my best to update everybody on Twitter as the weekend progresses, but my phone service has long had a spotty record in that building, so here's hoping! Until next time, take care, stay safe and I'll see you all at WonderCon!
