AXTON GETS CRAZY!!!

And here we are!  The first Guest Strip of the CRAZYVERSARY by the always outrageous Axton Kahler of Zombie Oaks!  Enjoy...

And Mindy goes BOOM!!!  I always knew love was blind, but I never realized it was explosive too!  Just what was in those candies exactly?!

Axton Kahler is the mad genius behind the comic Zombie Oaks, a strip so wild, there aren't enough words in the English language to accurately describe its zaniness!  He's also become a very good friend and am honored to have had him put his stamp on my "Explosive" duo!  Thanks again Axton!

Well, that's all for today.  We'll be back tomorrow with a Guest Strip from Bug Pudding creator J.P. Keslensky that's full of bugs... LITERALLY!!!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

THE CRAZYVERSARY BEGINS!!!

WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME TO THE FOURTH CRAZYVERSARY CELEBRATION!!!  And while it's true that Mike And Mindy and Mushrooms are both ending in December, that doesn't mean we can't end it on a high note!  We got some amazing Guest Strips lined up from some awesome cartooning pals that were all too happy to help kick off the start of the CRAZY New Year!  So sit back and relax as we celebrate the CRAZINESS that began one cold, gray February morning back in 2010...

Oh yeah... did I mention there's new comics too?!  Well, there are!  First up, Mike And Mindy...

Wow!  Talk about failure to "Launch!"  Looks like Mindy's gone super sonic!  Too bad those bloomers and bow aren't as aerodynamic!  Eh, they probably would've slowed her down anyway.  And yes, after four years, Mike has finally tied his shoe!  Somewhere, my pal Chandra is smiling.

Up next, a heaping helping of Mushrooms!  Mike and Mindy wanted to do yet another profile on their beloved creator, and I just can't say no to those faces!  Speaking of which, panel five up above marks another CRAZY first: The first time one of my characters has ever stared straight ahead!  After all these years I finally figured it out!  Anyway, here's the next toon...

Why those little...  Look, the Rhombus thing was just a dare, and was actually quite exhilarating!  And you try finding time to do laundry when you got a mountain of homework to do!  Plus, my Mom worked very hard on that Ninja Turtle costume!  And I'll have you know wearing underwear on your head while folding clothes brings good fortune!  I can't deny the ice cream scoop.  It just works better!  And polka metal's gonna be big!  Just you wait!  And I am a very good sport!  I even ordered the jaws of life for them to get those wedgies out and provided extra-soft pillows for sitting!

Well folks, that's all for day one.  We got guest art coming every weekday in February with Zombie Oaks Creator Axton Kahler "Blasting" in first!  Thank you all again so much for being so awesome!  The support I've received over the years is just amazing.  I'm so humbled by it all.  God bless you all and take care!  Until next time, catch y'all later!

ALL THINGS MUST PASS...

Just who is this figure behind those shadowy pigtails?  I can't tell you just yet.  What I can tell you is that she's one of the lead characters behind my NEW comic series (Yeah, another one!) coming in January of 2015!  More details will be revealed as the year progresses!

You may be saying to yourself; "Wait a minute, what about Mike And Mindy? And Mushrooms?"  Well, that's what the big news I've been hinting at is.  This year will mark the final year of the original CRAZYVERSE set.  You see, I've been working on this new story for quite sometime now, longer than my current stories even!  Also, I feel the time is right to move on to new things.  As much as I love doing these strips, I am starting to run out of ideas.  Rather than force things and put out an inferior comic, I think it'd be best leave on top, while they're still fresh.

Now, this isn't totally goodbye.  M&M and Mushrooms still have until December, not to mention there's still more books coming out.  So there's plenty of goofy fun left with these wild characters!  And I look forward to sharing each tale with you.

Well folks, that's all for now.  The next post kicks off the Fourth CRAZYVERSARY!!!  Every weekday in February is filled with CRAZY NEW Mike And Mindy art from some awesome pals!  And it all starts with NEW comics from Mike And Mindy and Mushrooms!  So be sure to stop by starting Monday!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

THE CRAZY FRONTIER

We're back with another new feature: GET CRAZY WEEK!!!  Yup, almost every month, y'all will get to see some guest strips I've done for other cartoonists!  First up, this comic for the Great Dawn Griffin of Zorphbert & Fred!

Don't laugh!  Zubaz pants were really comfortable!  And Genesis was the greatest console ever!  SEGA FOR LIFE Y'ALL!

Doing a guest strip is a HUGE honor for us cartoonists.  It's like a right of passage of sorts.  And in the Web Comics Realm, Dawn Griffin is a true titan!  She didn't originate the genre, but she's certainly helped make it a very big deal!  Her Zorphbert & Fred strip is one of the best comics period, and her Web Comic Alliance is a benefit for any that ply this trade.

When Dawn asked me to do a guest comic, I was pumped!  We both share a love of all things retro, and since 80's are kinda played out, I decided to deck Fred out early-90's style!  I like to think he's listening to Another Bad Creation's "Playground" on that boombox!  Why did we carry large radios on our shoulders?  Because they were actually cheaper than Walkman's!  And if you don't know what a Walkman is, that's just plain sad!  And yes, I DID have quite a few pairs of Zubaz pants!  LOVED those things!

Well folks, that's all for now.  I'll be back next time with a huge announcement.  Until then, take it easy and I'll catch y'all later!

GUEST WEEK!!! "PILE" ON THE LAUGHS SIMON!!!

Welcome to the first official post in the new Guest Week feature!  First up, an old pal of the CRAZYVERSE, the wonderful and whimsical Simon McLaren of Bullet Paw and other wonderful art.  Enjoy...

Talk about getting the "Cold" shoulder!  Mindy always seems to get the "Drop" on Mike!  Those two just keep "Piling" it on!  OK, OK, no more puns today.  I promise!

Simon is no stranger to these reaches having done guest art before in addition to his brilliant CCE pieces! He has once again delivered another solid Mike And Mindy guest strip.  His art style is so beautiful and whimsical.  I love how he uses colored pencils for his colors.  He's also one of the nicest people on Twitter.  Thanks again Simon for taking such good care of my "Kids!"

Guess what?  It's CCE time!  That's right folks got a whole new theme and here it is:

Draw your favorite SNL skit as reenacted by fairytale or mythological characters!

It can be single panel, a strip or a full on comic, anything you'd like!  It MUST be Family Friendly!  Cannot stress that enough!  The deadline is APRIL 16TH, 2014!!!  Hit me up on Twitter if interested and let the CRAZINESS fly!

Well folks, that's all for this week.  I'll be back next time with the first guest strip I ever got asked to do!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

MUSHROOMS: SCIENTIFICALLY ACCURATE!!!

And we're back!  Big happenings in the CRAZYVERSE this week!  But more on that later.  Right now, it's Mushrooms!  We strive to be educational here at the 'Verse, and hope everybody will get something out of this new strip!

Talk about a "Gas!"  Now we all know, and that's always been half the battle!  Gotta be honest, as great as this gag is, I'm not too happy with the outcome of the comic itself.  I used a new pencil that not only wouldn't sharpen, but it wouldn't erase!  All light colors on here were done in Photoshop, which really eats at me inside.  I prefer to do it all by hand.  As great as PrismaColor's markers are, their pencils are not as up to par.

And now, here it is!  BUBBLE FOX!!!

Yup!  He's finally here and ready for laughs!  The update schedule will be Tuesdays and Thursdays every week or until I run out of ideas!  I'm really excited about this new addition to the CRAZYVERSE and hope y'all like the strips!  It's my first attempt at a weekly comic, so we'll see how it all goes.

Well folks, that's all for this week.  We'll be back next time for the first of the New Guest Week feature with my good pal, Simon McLaren on deck!  Knowing Simon, it should be a whimsical and hilarious effort!  Until then, take care  and I'll catch y'all later!

WELCOME 2014!!! CRAZYVERSE STYLE!!!

Welcome, welcome welcome to the year 2014!  It's already better than 2013 don't ya think?  I got a lot of fun planned this year, including a new comic series, Bubble Fox, launching next week, and the fourth CRAZYVERSARY happening next month!  I'll also be launching a new feature this month, Guest Week, with a new Mike And Mindy guest strip every month!  (The great Simon McLaren is on deck for January!)  The last post of each month will now feature guest art I've done for other artists!  So sit back and enjoy all the CRAZINESS in store for 2014!

In the meantime, Mike and Mindy are back and celebrating their soon to be debuting pal, Bubble Fox, by having some "Bubbly" fun!  Let's hope those "Blowhards" don't take things too far...

Wow!  Talk about "Bursting" your bubble!  Poor Mike.  He wasn't "Large and in charge" in this strip!  Hopefully Mindy can glue him back together in time for the CRAZYVERSARY next month!

Well folks, that's all for this week.  I'll be back next time with a New Mushrooms I'm sure y'all with find a "Gas!"  And I'll also have more info on Bubble Fox!  So take care and I hope you all had a safe and happy New Year!  I'll catch y'all later!
