AND THE FOX ROLLS ON!!!

Well, after ten weeks, we've finally returned to normal here at the CRAZYVERSE.  Returning from the insanity that is Comic Con is never easy, but much like Christmas, we'll love it even more when it comes back next year.  Besides, we're still celebrating the 10th Anniversary of BUBBLE FOX!!!  Amazingly enough, I'm still getting fan art of that wily old critter all these months later, so I figured I'd take some time this month and share a few more pieces with you fine CRAZIES!  Not a bad way to close out the summer eh?  Enjoy...

Would ya look at that!  Our old pal Kim Belding is back yet again to give Bubble some more of his fun brand of cartoony love!  I could obviously (And have!) go on for hours about how wonderful Kim is and how much I love his comics and art, but frankly I'm running out of synonyms!  Kim, you know I love ya buddy, and I hope the married life is proving to be a fun one so far!  I also love that longtime Bubble Fox costar, Mr. Gully, appears alongside Bubble!  Mr. Gully is based off of another longtime friend in the cartooning world, teacher and Off Season creator Warren Frantz.  Warren's been a dear pal to both me and Kim all these years with lots of cartoon play between all of our characters.  Who could ever forget the infamous Root Beer Wars of 2012?!?  And as far as Bubble lasting longer than Calvin & Hobbes?  I'd obviously never put myself at THAT level, as C&H's output still dwarfs mine, but it's pretty incredible to consider the mileage I've actually gotten out of BF.  I never thought I'd have so many stories to tell when I first came up with Bubble.  It was all pretty much on a lark even!  That he's lasted this long and has so many fans...  It's very humbling.  I only hope someday that people will look back on Bubble and pals and put them in the same league as Calvin and his best bud.  Thanks again Kim.  You are the Hobbes this Calvin badly needed!

That's all she wrote for this week, but we'll be back next time for some very well-rounded laughs from another longtime friend of the CRAZYVERSE who wanted to help celebrate Bubble's big milestone, so be sure to come back and check it out!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

THE CRAZY INFLATION BLOWOUT!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EH?

We are back!  And already halfway past January!  Said it many times since this blog started, but time flies, and very fast at that.  Hopefully you are all in good spirits today, but if not, I got some well-rounded laughs in store that should get a rise out of you as some friends have floated in from the great white north! They're just bursting with excitement, and a little bit of helium, to meet you all!  Who are these rotund guests?  Scroll down and enjoy...

What happens when a dear pal's birthday is coming up and you need a gift fast?  You call in some favors of course!  Bubble Fox has pals all over the world, and a good many of them live in Canada!  Pals like Lollipop, Donna, Gully, Max and Foster!  You see, it was Kim Belding's birthday and to celebrate, his beloved creation, Picpak Dog, wanted some balloons.  But why give the Pink Pooch just any old dumb balloons when he could have some balloons with a Canadian flair!  That's when Bubble Fox came in and called up some pals from north of the border, who all agreed to lend their services for such a noble cause, as Kim and Picpak have made us all smile a lot over the years!  Up front is Lollipop from Jennifer Cuthbert's wonderful educational comic series The Adventures of Lollipop and Max Fogherty from Caanan Grall's masterpiece of comedy, Max Overacts!  Meanwhile in the back, Donna from Donna McKay's semi-autobiographical comic series Once Upon A Donna and the always familiar Gully Golz from Warren Frantz's hilarious hockey romp Off Season, seem to have inhaled a gut-busting amount of helium to round out THAT much!  Due to a helium shortage, Foster the Beaver of Ryan Klassen's City Folk had to settle for regular air!  Kim loved this piece as did my fellow Canadian pals, though Caanan's actually from Australia originally, but art and comedy have no borders!  Of course, the hard part now is...  How do I top Kim's birthday art this year?!?

Another week down in our lighthearted look at Inflation!  Come back next week as we end the first month of 2022 with a total blowout!  We are inflating our grosses in the next post, so be sure to float in and give it a look!  Until then, take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

MINDY'S BOOMIN' BLOOMERS, PT. 2!!!

Welcome back y'all!  February is just about done!  Hopefully things are looking brighter all around.  You know what brightens up one's day?  Laughter!  You know what makes people laugh?  Fart jokes!  You know what's a REALLY good fart joke?  A little girl holding in a sneeze that shoots out her butt and causes her bloomers to explode!  And hey, wouldn't you know it?  I just happen to have that for you today!  We're continuing on from last week's wackiness, so strap in and hold on to your butts, but NOT your sneezes, because all systems are go!  Enjoy...

And that was second part of the Boomin' Bloomers Saga!  More great artists came in again, including yet another fan piece by Kim Belding (That guy is everywhere)!  I'm particularly happy at how many illustrators got in on this.  You see, as cartoonists, scenarios like these aren't really all that strange.  We live for wild, surreal, cartoony gags and are constantly pushing the limits.  Illustrators are often creating wonderful scenes of depth and emotion and vast environments.  To see a few take part in something so inherently zany was just a pure joy!  Thanks again to my awesome pals for taking part!  Hope y'all had a blast working on it!

And that's a wrap on February 2021!  Hope y'all enjoyed hanging with Mike and Mindy again for a bit.  I'd like to say that next week would kick off our WonderCon coverage, but I sadly doubt it's going to happen this year.  Its postponement hasn't been formally announced yet as of this writing, but barring some kind of miraculous turnaround, I just can't see it happening.  Stranger things have happened though, so fingers crossed!  Come what may, stay safe, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

MIKE AND MINDY HAVE SOME PALS!!!

We are back!  February is a short month, but it sure does pack a punch weather-wise!  But that's not the reason we are all here today.  We are here because it's Mike and Mindy's Anniversary and some pals wanted to show there appreciation for the Toony Tykes!  Which pals you're wondering?  Scroll down and you'll see!  Enjoy...

First up is this sweet little piece from Twitter pal Haruka!  I was stunned by the amount of fan art that came in for M&M's 10th Anniversary before and even after it happened.  Some of the fan art came from countries that I didn't even know followed the comic.  Most of it came from Europe while some, like in Haruka's case, came from as far away as Japan!  It really is a joy and quite humbling to know that people outside of North America not only read my comics but enjoy them too.  I never know how well these comics translate outside of the Americas as humor is different everywhere.  M&M was a silent, gag-based comic, so there was no language barrier to overcome.  Even though they ended so long ago now, I still get new fans every year because of these wacky kids!

Next up is a funny piece from The Muse Stand creator Joe Michael K!  Joe's another Twitter pal who felt inspired to give these two tykes a shot in his own style!  I always get laugh at how no matter who's drawing them, nearly everybody always includes the giant, rounded eyes in their M&M fan art.  It's certainly among their trademarks.  Along with helium of course!

Speaking of helium, it's just not a fan art post without the tiny, the toony and more than a little loony Kim Belding!  Kim always draws my characters with such wacky glee!  And when it comes to balloon gags, he always rises to the top!  Gotta say though, Santa's white gloves and black pants are really weirding me out here.  Kim assured me that's just how Canadian Santa dresses, but I have my suspicions!

Well, that's all for now.  Next week, we'll be back with some more fan art that's explosively fun, so be sure to come back and check it all out!  Until then, stay safe, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

BUBBLE AND PALS FLOAT FOR A PAL!!!

Welcome to August CRAZIES!!!  Hopefully you are all staying safe and finding ways to be occupied.  Not a whole lot of new things to report on any front, but I do have some new (To this blog!) art to share with you all, so why not slip right in, eh?  Enjoy...

Oh Bubble, Bubble, Bubble...  That's no way to treat your friends!  I know you promised Jenna some balloons for her birthday, but wouldn't it have been easier to just buy some instead of inflating Picpak Dog and Mr. Blob?  Of course the answer is YES, but it's much more fun this way!  This was a birthday greeting on Twitter I did for my dear friend, Jenna Belding.  Jenna is the sister of Picpak Dog creator Kim Belding, who's certainly no stranger to these CRAZY parts having done numerous guest comics and fan art over the years.  When it's somebody's birthday, we always try to do a little something for our pals to give them a good laugh and what's funnier than root beer and cartoon balloons?  Hopefully Jenna still remembers this and still gets a good chuckle out of it!

Well, that's all for now.  We'll back next week with some new art that could definitely use a bit of color.  Until then,  take care, stay safe and I'll catch y'all later!

MIKE AND MINDY: BACK TO THE BEGINNING WITH KIM BELDING!!!

We are back!  And we got our first guest comic of the anniversary!  And surprise surprise, it's by the creator of Picpak Dog: The young, bright and insanely fast Kim Belding, the only cartoonist on the planet who can turn in a guest comic WHILE you are literally asking him!  Kim's one of a kind and could give Sergio Aragones a run for his money!  So sit back and take a good look at this age-appropriate entry!  Enjoy...

Baby Mike and Mindy!  Why didn't I ever think of that?  Probably because Hanna Barbera already ran the gamut of the popular characters as babies/kids trope.  Kim breathes new life into the subgenre though, and as always delivers big laughs from the small tykes!  M&M was all about surrealism and so is Picpak Dog, which is one of the reasons why I love Kim's work so much.  He's an amazing artist and an even more amazing person.  I'm honored to be friends with him and equally honored that he gives so much humor and charm to my characters!  Thanks again Kim!

That's all for today!  We got another guest comic coming up on Friday that'll give you all belly laughs.  BIG belly laughs at that!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

THE CRAZYVERSE IS BACK IN BUSINESS Y'ALL!!!

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY HEY HEY HEY!!!  That's right everybody!  After a month-long sabbatical and a one-week tease, the CRAZYVERSE is back up and running!  So excited about it all that I even hired Mr. Scream to come out here from WPIG Radio in Aurora, IL to type out today's first line! It's been a rough go lately.  After eight years, my original MacBook Pro finally died on me.  While I was putting the finishing touches on the next Bubble Fox book no less!  Luckily, everything was saved, but the timing was pretty horrible.  It was also right before a con I was tabling at and still needed prints to finish!  My Aunt Marisa was kind enough to let me use her computer for a few days, but she lives considerably far from me and her version of Photoshop was a bit older than what I was used to.  That coupled with my WonderCon trip and an increased work schedule just made it tough to get things done without my laptop.  Thankfully, things are going well right now, and I got's me a new laptop!  Momentum's on my side for once and I'm gonna keep it going!  But enough about that.  Y'all wanna see som art and dammit, I'm gonna deliver!  Enjoy...

It's no secret that Kim Belding is a very dear friend of mine.  The creator of the hilarious web comic, Picpak Dog, has long been a supporter of all things CRAZY and at this point has probably drawn my characters almost as much as I have!  Every year, I do some birthday art for Kim and he does some for me too.  Our birthdays both fall in April, so it's easy to be in a giving mood!  This art is from four years ago back in April 2015.  Kim was one of Mike & Mindy's biggest fans and always enjoyed it when the brats were bloated beyond belief with helium, so I gave him some balloons for his birthday as well!  Astute fans will notice that Mindy's even sporting some Picpak-colored bloomers for the occasion!  She always had a stylish flair!  Thanks again Kim for being such a good pal and a supportive pal.  I always got you back!

And that's all for this week.  The art rolls on next time with some canines that will hopefully have everybody howling with joy!  So be sure to come back and take a look!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

CRAZY TWITTER EXCLUSIVES ARE HERE!

Welcome to September CRAZIES!!!  Yeah yeah, I know.  Summer's over, school's back in and we still have a few weeks of insanely hot weather to deal with.  Well, provided where you live at you do anyway.  But hey!  All the big holidays are right around the corner, with several big stores already urging us to start buying now, so it's not like we don't have anything to look forward to at least!  And as such, it's a new month, so that means it's time for some new art!  And I got a some special ones coming up in the next few weeks!  What's so special about them you ask?  Read on and find out!  Enjoy...

I have made many friends over the years thanks to the social media platform more commonly known as Twitter.  If you can avoid politics, sports and Internet trolls, it's actually a pretty cool place to hangout at and get your work seen.  But as stated earlier, the biggest benefit to me since joining has been all the wonderful friends I've made there!  And among the closest has been Chris Gobbett, the co-founder of the Root Beer Party!  Chris has always been a very supportive pal and a very big fan of my work, so when I heard his birthday was coming up, I decided to "Float" some art his way featuring his favorite characters: Kim Belding's Picpak Dog and a VERY buoyant Mike and Mindy!  To quote a popular TV show theme song, "Thank you for being a friend" Chris!  This originally posted in the Fall of 2014 and since then, my collection of Twitter-exclusive art has really grown!  So over the next few weeks, I'll share a few more pieces with you and will likely be including more in future months as my Daily Doodle and Sketch Dailies pencils begin to dwindle!

And that's it for this first week!  We'll be back next time with some art that is pretty "Clucking" awesome!  And if any of y'all are at the Long Beach Comic Con this weekend, be sure to stop and say hi if you see me!  It's a pretty chill show compared to San Diego and Anaheim, so everyone should have lots of fun!  Until we meet again, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

WONDERS OF THE WEB: SCRAPS GETS CRAZY!!!

Welcome back!  Summer's ticking down quite rapidly here!  I guess depending on where you live, that either sucks or is pointless given that most California schools are now year-around and are thus already back in school.  If that's the case for any kids reading this, take heart.  Summer break may be shorter now, but at least Christmas and Spring Break are longer.  That's a halfway decent trade off, right?  Anyway, I'm sure you don't wanna hear about school right now.  You want some art!  And I'm here to deliver!  We got another wacky Canadian to salute, and it's actually somewhat fitting as today's honoree has a sister-in-law named Wakky!  Who is it?  You'll find out as soon as you scroll down if the hint two sentences ago wasn't enough!  Enjoy...

HIYOOOOO!!!  It's Scraps!  The downtrodden, hard luck, dumpster-dwelling brother of Picpak Dog, the infallible, and highly inflatable, pink star of Kim Belding's legendary Web Comic!  Scraps is the modern day and canine equivalent of Charlie Chaplin.  No matter what misfortune befalls him, he's always able to roll with the punches and keep moving forward!  We could all stand to be a bit more like Scraps.  Kim has long been a friend and always surprises me with guest comics and fan art for my characters, so it's always a joy to return the favor.  Plus, Kim's characters are loads of fun to draw!  Everyone should be doing fan art for him!

And that is that!  We'll be back next week to close out August and our Web Comic salute with an homage of monstrous proportions!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

RAMPANT INFLATION AND GROWTH!!!

The time has come to send another February packing.  But don't be sad!  Spring is coming soon along with a new set of festivities!  Not to mention, SHAMROCK SHAKES ARE BACK!!!  Think I'm gonna gulp one down while y'all read the post.  Enjoy...

You really gotta watch out for those Wacky Wolves.  They tend to be VERY unpredictable!  This was another combined Daily Doodle theme that came about after work likely kept me from being able to do one of them separately.  And the themes were literally a turtle drinking tea and a wacky wolf, so I just ran with it!  With wolves' natural huffing and puffing abilities, it just seemed like right that this wacky wolf would puff himself up.  And honestly, what turtle isn't regal?  I get the feeling these two will pop up in Bubble Fox someday.  They have a lot of personality!

And hey hey!  Kim Belding has gifted us another piece of fan art, featuring the lovely, proper and VERY intense Mindy!

This came about after Kim commented on some Twitter art I did that Mindy's posture was off.  I jokingly gave him a hard time about it and the next day, Kim surprised me with this fan art of Mindy really taking it to Picpak Dog!  Poor Picpak.  He's been inflated more times than the Goodyear Blimp at this point, but darn it!  He makes a really good balloon!  It angered Mindy enough to break her silence even!  Thanks again Kim for the fan art and always being a good sport.  It was great to post some new Mike & Mindy art in their anniversary month again.

And that's all she wrote for February.  Next month starts the countdown to WonderCon 2018, so the art will be going on a break for six weeks as we bring you loads of pics from WonderCon's wonderful past!  So strap on your Jedi costume and come on back for some comic convention fun!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

CRAZYVERSARY 2015 IS A GO WITH KIM, PICPAK, INFLATION AND 3D!!!

HAPPY CRAZYVERSARY!!!  No, Mike and Mindy aren't back.  As you can see, they are clearly enjoying their retirement and the beach!  But it is their anniversary month, and a party still has to happen for them!  Just like in years past, every weekday this month we got a Mike And Mindy guest comic coming at you from some awesome pals from the web comic realm!  First up is Kim Belding, creator of Mike and Mindy's favorite pal, Picpak Dog!  But before we jump into the guest comic, I first have a surprise for all my CRAZIES.

Have any of you ever wanted to see Mike and Mindy in… 3D?!

Well now you can!  The above image is the result of countless hours of research and experimentation!  It's amazing how well it came out and I hope y'all get a kick out of it!  What's that?  You don't have 3D glasses?  Never fear!  The good folks at Wikihow got you covered!  Follow the included link here for directions and a template to make your own red and blue 3D glasses should have none of your own!  And yes, the red and cyan type will work too if you have those!

And now, enjoy the toon…

These three have quite a history together!  Picpak was sad to hear of his friends' retirement but had assurances they'd still have some fun every now and then.  Perhaps he should've been more specific on the actual time!

I can't sing the praises of Kim Belding enough.  He's a kind hearted soul, a phenomenal talent and an amazing pal.  He's always a good sport in our constant debates over which root beer is the best.  He's my partner in crime and one day we WILL get CRAZY in Pink off the ground.  Without the aid of helium to boot!  When I got this toon I laughed rather heartily.  It really did sum up the friendship and friendly rivalry of our respective casts peferctly.  Inflation was M&M's trademark gag really and in a sense it's been passed on to Picpak.  Thanks again Kim.  I take comfort knowing these guys will always be full of hot air!

You know?  3D was cool, but the request I get the most is animation.  "When are we gonna see Mike and Mindy move Jon?" is something I'm constantly asked and if I had the money, it'd be done in a heartbeat!  But I don't so I hope this really simple GIF is good enough!  Enjoy...

This was probably the grossest gag I ever did in a Mike And Mindy comic.  It got one of the best reactions ever from readers and seemed taylor made to be animated.  I know the GIF is rough, but I think it came out OK for having never done one before.  Perhaps someday it will be properly animated for to see and hear!

Well, that's all for day one, but don't feel left "Hanging!"  We got a new guest toon tomorrow from J.A. Parker that will be "Monster" laughs for all!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all tomorrow!
