WONDERCON 2015 WAS TOTALLY SICK... LITTERALLY!!!

And we're back again!  How was WonderCon 2018?  Hell if I know?  As of this writing, I haven't even gone yet!  Hopefully it was an awesome experience that I'll talk about for ages!  Until then though, it's time to close out the month of March with one more look back at a past show!

We end the the third month of 2018 with a trip back to the third month of 2015!  Enjoy...

A future White House aide made it to the show that weekend!

It's a Dalek!  I'm not really sure why these things are considered a threat.  Seriously!  If you push one over, it's NOT gonna get back up!

Ghost with the most babe!

Adventure Time meets Star Wars in this epic crossover!  Would the Lumpy Space Princess be Jabba the Hutt in this universe?

Quailman and Silver Skeeter!  I'd like to see some Mr. Dink cosplay at some point!

Do the Bartman or you might get into Deep Deep Trouble!
(Bonus points to any who get that!)

 RU-FI-OOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Be afraid.  Be VERY afraid!

Jareth took a break from the Goblin city, hoping to find some new recruits!

Sorry Master Roshi, I only family-friendly books!

Lydia Deets!  She was one of many I saw at the show that year.  Loves me some Beetlejuice cosplay!

MEEP!!!  MEEP MEEP!!!

The family that cosplays together, stays together!

And to close things out, we'll say farewell with the Sanderson Sisters!  For having flopped at the box office,  Hocus Pocus has certainly developed a cult following!

And that was WonderCon 2015.  It was certainly one to remember.  I battled a raging sinus infection the whole week but saw record sales with my sketchcards.  It was great to finally find a market to cater to.  Sketchcards have been my bread and butter at cons ever since!

And that's a wrap for March!  Even though WonderCon's over now, we still have two more editions to look at as we kick off April, so be sure to come back and see!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

WONDERCON 2018 IS HERE!!! BUT FIRST, WONDERCON 2014!!!

I can show you the world...  Of WonderCon 2018!  Yup!  The big week is here!  But more on that later!  First, let's travel back to a WonderCon of the not so distant past and see if we can learn anything from hit!

It's WonderCon 2014 this week, so strap in and hold on tight!  Enjoy...

The Green Ranger was called in to stop his former master after Rita continually put eyes out!

For the last time, I don't know where M. Bison is!

An all too sad reminder that a Green Hornet movie exists.  Do yourselves a favor folks, stick with the classic TV series.  And the episodes of Batman '66 he guested on.

Super freak extraordinaire...
Freakazoid!
Freakazoid!
Runs around in underwear!
Freakazoid!
Freakazoid!

And now, your daily dose of nightmare fuel!

The Schwartz is strong with this one!

Bert and Mary are popping up at more and more cons these days!  Given the proximity to Disneyland, it's not surprising so many show up at WonderCon.

Peter and Tink blended in perfectly with the greenery outside.  They ambushed many a wayward pirate!

And now some badass cosplay weaponry!

Ice King!  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Not sure how I never posted this one before!  Tex Avery cosplay rocks!

Wow, just...  Wow.  Didn't mean to include two doses of nightmare fuel in this post!

Lando loves you, baby!

This is what happens when Transformers assimilate Chrysler cars!

And that was WonderCon 2014!  Not gonna lie.  That one totally sucked and I've by and large tried to forget it ever happened.  Things just didn't work out at my table that year.  Still, got some great cosplay pics at least.

And now, it's time for some WonderCon 2018 info!  I won't be tabling this year, so I'll kinda be all over the place!  Depending on cell service, I'll be posting to Twitter periodically on my whereabouts at the show and am always happy to meet a fan or two, so keep an eye out!

And that's all for today!  We'll be back next time with a look at WonderCon 2015 to close out March!  As I always preach prior to a con, please be courteous to others should you be attending.  WonderCon doesn't get the kind of massive crowds that SDCC, NYCC or even DragonCon get, but there are still MANY in attendance.  You just gotta accept that personal comfort is a sacrifice we all make to attend these shows and that no one is trying to intentionally be bothersome.  And if they are, tell security.  It's not worth the trouble of getting kicked out or arrested simply because someone's being rude.  Okay, enough lecturing, take care, have fun, be safe and I'll catch y'all at WonderCon!

THE WONDERCON 2018 COUNTDOWN CONTINUES!!!

We're back!  And Shipwreck welcomes you to Week 2 of our WonderCon 2018 Countdown!  I don't know about you, but I could sure use some Cosplay awesome right now, so let's dive on in!

Today, we set the Wayback Machine to 2013, so strap in and hold on tight!  Enjoy...

I honestly don't understand why so many people find clowns to be terrifying.  This jolly old soul looks like a load of laughs!

If this guy and his toy monkey had been cast as the leads, Oz The Great And Powerful probably would've been a lot more enjoyable!

WonderCon 2013 was the year of Adventure Time!  Everywhere I looked, it was million Finns and Fionas!  Not a bad show to spread word of.  What was the second most popular cosplay of the con?...

My Little Pony!  Although Doctor Who fans certainly made their presence felt too!  I give credit where credit is due.  I never in a million years would've thought this pony thing would get so big.  The craze seems to be dying off now, but in 2013, AT and MLP were everywhere!

WonderCon that year fell on Easter Sunday, so it was only natural that the main man himself would stop by for an appearance!  And yes, I always felt guilty for being at a con on a holy day!

I guess it's time to confess that in the past, I had a run in with Cookie Monster and things turned ugly fast.  You just don't touch a man's Double Stuff Oreos and NOT expect him to react!  Cookie came by looking for more trouble and, well...  I had to handle things.  Again!  "C" is for cookie, yes, but "A" is for ass whoopin'!  Stay away from my Oreos, Muppet!

Rainbow Brite showed up to plug her new book that she was releasing that year, Toy Box Confessional!  Gotta say, didn't realize how seedy The Pits really were!

Somebody may wanna call Arkham and see if some cells are empty.

Nice to see these three getting along!

These two were on a mission from God!

Some people wear their love on their sleeve...  LITERALLY!!!

Wesley and Buttercup!  They were looking for a six-fingered man for a friend of theirs!

Zombie Princesses!  When you're this close to Disneyland, you're bound to see a few of them, albeit usually more lively!

And we'll end things today with the Secret Of The Ooze Shredder!  Love the detail he put into the helmet!

And that was WonderCon 2013!  A very fun show that saw decent sales and a bunch of pals come by, so I actually had a chance to go walk around for a bit!  It's funny how much of a blur it all is now.  Doesn't feel like it was five years ago.

And that's it for today.  We'll be back next week with a look back at WonderCon 2014 and some info on where to find me at WonderCon 2018, since it is next week!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

IT'S ON!!! THE WONDERCON 2018 COUNTDOWN BEGINS!!!

Welcome to March my CRAZIES!!!  It's that time of year again!  The weather's warming, the birds are coming back and the nerds are emptying their piggy banks!  That's right folks, WonderCon 2018 is on the horizon!  It's become a bit of a tradition here at the CRAZYVERSE to take some time to spotlight past cons in the month of a major show, and this year is no exception.  Between WonderCon and WizardWorld, I've spent eight of the last nine years taking a week off to head to Anaheim and play tourist for a bit, and it's been worth every penny spent!  So get comfy, because the next six weeks will be spent taking a look back at the fun of the past!

To kick things off, we head back to 2012, my first trip to WonderCon!  Enjoy...

Captain America and Bucky make the rounds in the lobby.  Best place to find good cosplay is in the lobby of the hotel/convention center the con is at.

It's the Ice King's fan fiction come to life!

Bounty Hunters.  We DO need that kind of scum here!

Captain Eo came to spread the beauty of music throughout WonderCon!

These ladies were looking for a watermelon to smash!

And the winner for most obscure cosplay goes to the cheerleader from Daria!

Let's get dangerous!!!

Movie goers may love Deadpool, but his colleagues in the funny pages sure don't!

A con just ain't a con until Big Bird shows up!

And speaking of Big Bird, this bootleg Star Wars/Sesame Street crossover shirt was just too awesome NOT to get a picture of!  Oddly enough, Big Brd's not on it!

Batman Forever  Twoface.  The costume's cool at least!

As you might have guessed, these two were pretty popular in the exhibit hall.

Zap Brannigan always shoots first and never asks questions!

And who better to end it on than the Joker?

And that was WonderCon 2012.  Anaheim's first foray into WonderCon also marked my debut as an exhibitor.  It was such a trip being behind the table for the first time.  It was a scary but fun experience.  Also kind of boring.  It's hard to sit back and watch everyone else walk around!  This likely mark's the last time I'll post any 2012 pics as I'm sadly starting to run out of good ones!  You can only post so many random group shots and stray R2-D2's before it gets old!

And that's it for this week.  We'll be back next time with a look back at WonderCon 2013!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!
