THE SPIRIT OF BUBBLE FOX CONCLUDES!!!

We come to the end of another wonderful month here at the CRAZYVERSE.  The Spirit Of Bubble Fox has certainly been a lot of fun to present, especially seeing all these comics in color for the first time.  Not sure if I'll do it again, but for now, let's enjoy some comics, shall we?

September, one of Bubble Fox's best months ever!  It featured a wild tale where Bubble's girlfriend, Willow, is mistaken for him at a rodeo, leading to her getting bucked by a bull and knocked out.  When the Ragtags attempt to give her air, they accidentally inflate her instead, where she's again mistaken, this time as a beach ball, leading to the toon at the top!  This is one of the rare times I bragged about a strip. I was very proud of the expressions in each panel, especially the middle.  Expressions are so important in comics.  Without them, it's all static.

October was another amazing month for Bubble, as he had a guest star in what was, to date, his longest storyline ever.  In it, Bubble is hired to tackle a dragon that's causing trouble in the forest.  Realizing he's in over his head, Bubble hires Cecile, the young warrior bunny of Minki Kim's delightful web comic, Cotton Tale, only to realize she may not be as experienced as she claims!  Many great strips came out of this series, which was very action packed given my preferred genre.  I picked this strip because I just loved the word play and expressions of Cecile, showing even she may have bitten off more than she could chew.

November's entry came from a short series of strips where Bubble explored typical Thanksgiving tropes, one of which was Bubble ruining Willow's plans for quiet romantic meal with him by inviting company.  This strip had many laughing hard and regaling me with their own tales of Turkey Day horrors!  And Bubble's cluelessness and gall in that last panel are just hysterical!

And here's the final entry for the Spirit Of Bubble Fox!  After his cherished recliner breaks, Bubble gets a job at a department store so he can buy a new one.  This strip was picked because I just had so much fun while drawing it.  No matter what, I kept cracking up at the Sheep's excited "BAAA" every time I saw it.  It's weird how something so simple can be so silly.

And that's a wrap for the Spirit Of Bubble Fox!  I hope you enjoyed seeing these strips in color for the first time and encourage you to check out more fox silliness by clicking the Bubble Fox banner at the top!

That's all for this week.  I'll be back next time with a full rundown of what I'll be doing and where I'll be at WonderCon as well as some new art from the Citizens Of CRAZY!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

THE SPIRIT OF BUBBLE FOX CONTINUES!!!

And we're back!  We got four more popular Bubble Fox toons to present in color for the first time here as part of the SPIRIT OF BUBBLE FOX!  So let's jump right into it, shall we?  Enjoy…

This first toon comes from May 2014.  The storyline featured a little Scotty Bird, a grouse to be precise, named Gerty MacGrouse who opened a music school and offered free lessons for a month.  Unfortunately, her students' enthusiasm outweighed their skills and caused more harm than good.  In one strip, she attempts to teach Bubble the bagpipes, but overfills leading to her predicament up top!  The inspiration for this strip came from Twitter pal Tim Budgen, who posted a sketch of a bird wearing a Scotty hat and playing bagpipes one day.  I loved it so much, I had to make a toon out of it!  Who knew it would lead to eight strips?!

This strip was June's offering and I have to admit, It's my favorite so far!  I try to avoid adult gags, but this one was just too funny not to do!  I never got any complaints, so I think most folks realized I was just trying to be funny and the reaction was very positive overall.

This strip came from July's offering which saw Bubble's adventures as a balloon vendor.  Many funny strips came out of that month, but this one in particular just had me in stitches.  It's Bubble at his most helpful!

Our last entry today comes from August.  Another personal favorite,  I'm a big believer in karma and Pudge the Bulldog almost always gets his in the end, usually through his own ineptness.  It's also another example of the resourcefulness of the Ragtags.

Well, that's all for this week.  We'll be back next time with the finale for the SPIRIT OF BUBBLE FOX.  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

IT'S THE SPIRIT OF BUBBLE FOX!!!

Well, its a week late, but here's the official start to the Spirit Of Bubble Fox!  The criteria for selection was simple: Strips were picked based on positive reader comments, amount of views and some deep soul searching in terms stories that just plain worked.  Some of the more fanatical readers may have differing opinions, but as it stands, these 12 comics were the best that Bubble Fox had to offer in its first year of print.  I hope you enjoy!

This post came from January, among Bubble's first efforts.  I'm not a fan of bees, not by any means.  And yet these creatures fascinate me somehow.  Even more fascinating?  People willingly eat their vomit!  That's right.  Honey is bee barf!  Think about that next time you drink some herbal tea!

February's entry brought this love fest about.  So many people loved that the snake fell in love with a garden hose.  These reptiles have notoriously bad eyesight, which is perfect since love is blind anyway!

This entry from March ended a short storyline that marked the first time Bubble wasn't featured in any strips.  It also best exemplifies the kind of characters the Ragtags are: Kids!  And like most kids, the Ragtags aren't afraid to stoop to any length to get ahead!

Our final entry for today posted in April and also got a lot of feedback from folks who just didn't see that ending coming.  I have to admit, I was laughing pretty hard while drawing it and I'm happy so many got the joke.

Well, I suppose now's as good a time as any to bring the big news out, so here goes…

BUBBLE FOX IS IN PRINT!!!  That's right y'all!  The first collection of BF comics is now here and loaded with all sorts of fun AND extras!  It was a lot of fun to put this book together and I sure hope you all have a lot of fun reading it!  So pick up your copies today at either CreateSpace or Amazon!  Or, come to WonderCon 2015 in Anaheim and get your copy in person!  More details on that as the event draws nearer!

Well folks, that's all for today.  We'll be back next week with four more strips for the Spirit Of Bubble Fox!  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!

A BIG CRAZY THANK YOU!!!

Howdy y'all!  Welcome to March!  I know I promised the start of the Spirit Of Bubble Fox this week, but real life it seems has become far too hectic, but I promise next week it'll start up and deliver what I promised and be even better than initially thought!

In the meantime I present the above piece in gratitude to the awesome artists who did guest comics for both Mike And Mindy AND Bubble Fox during their respective anniversary months!  Their names are too many to name due to time constraints, but they appear clearly in the art and their links can be found on the corresponding pages that their guest comics appeared!  Thanks again amigos!

Well folks, hopefully I'll find some time to get things back to normal by next week.  Between work, the Bubble Fox book, illness, a life crisis, actual cartooning and WonderCon prep, I just got too sidetracked.  I apologize and will have things back in order soon.  Until then, take care and I'll catch y'all later!
